Register to join the National Young Adults Leaders Conference and enjoy a unique and wonderfully encouraging Christian community:

  • Visiting effective ministries that are serving their local communities in Christ’s name and reflecting on what that teaches us about leadership

  • Training in collective action
  • Learning about other cultures
  • Bible studies, Worship and small group discussions
  • Action based community building by attending a local worship service
  • A talent show and some free time for fun, touristing and hanging out together enjoying this beautiful part of The Gold Coast

Participants must be:

  •   18 – 30 years of age
  •   committed Christians keen to develop and express their discipleship
  •   actively involved in the worshipping life of the Uniting Church in Australia
  •   already involved in some form of service or leadership or hoping to be soon
  •   willing to be part of an ongoing network of young adults and mentors
  •   willing to give influence and inspiration to the UCA now and into the future
  •   okay with most of the language used being English
  •   curious, respectful, humble and appreciative with people of other cultures and Christian theologies
  •   able to enthusiastically participate and contribute in a gathering of their peers

The UCA is a beautifully multicultural church. To make NYALC as representative of the UCA as possible:

  • 1/3 will be Indigenous young adults
  • 1/3 will be Anglo young adults
  • 1/3 will be 2nd Gen young adults
  • From across all the Synods

We will take up to 100 young adults. Quotas for each state will also make sure that we keep spaces for people from all across Australia.

Registration Costs:

Central and Southern Qld: $650   

NSW/ACT: $600

Vic/SA: $550

WA/NS/NQld/Tas: $450

Cost Help! We encourage participants to speak to their congregations, presbyteries or Synods regarding financial support. For example, if your congregation could sponsor one third of your costs, the presbytery another third and you pay the remaining third yourself, that would be very helpful for you!

Applications close on the 17th of June 2016 or as soon as the conference numbers are filled.

There are limited numbers and people will be selected on the basis of how soon they get their forms in, their application form comments and the strength of their referee’s comments.

We recommend that you ask a Christian person you respect to act as a mentor to you throughout the application process and after the conference. If your mentor is also one of your referees, that’s fine.

All applicants will be notified as to whether their application has been successful or not within 6 weeks of applying. We will then send you information about registering and payments.
